Video Services for Students

The SAIT Library has a collection of DVD and VHS videos available for home use for a 1 week loan period. The Home Use VHS/DVD collection is located on Level 0.

All SAIT students, faculty and staff can borrow this material with a valid SAIT ID card.

The Home-Use DVD and VHS videos may not be shown in the classroom.

The SAIT Library now has available Streaming Video.  These materials may be accessed via the Library Catalogue or through the Find DVDs and Videos page. These videos are available to use in the classroom for presentations and for research from home.  A current valid Student ID number and a library issued PIN will be required when accessing from home.  If you do not have a PIN please contact the Library to obtain one.

Fines for late returns

Fines of $1.00 per day are levied for all overdue items.

Classroom Use of Instructional Videos

The Library also has instructional videos in VHS and DVD formats available for use in class by SAIT instructors. If a student needs to borrow an instructional video for a classroom presentation, their instructor must make a booking 1 week in advance, pick up the video at the library and return it on the student’s behalf.

Student Viewing of Videos in the Library

Students may view Home Use and Instructional videos in the library at viewing stations located on Level-0 or in any of the Library’s Study Rooms.

Classroom Use of Videos from Non-SAIT Sources

Videos taped off-air, purchased for home use or rented from a source such as Blockbuster, Rogers or any other video outlet for classroom use require special copyright clearance. For these and other copyright questions, please contact the Library AV Services Coordinator by phone at 284-8431 or by email at library.av@sait.ca
